Graduate Studies provides comprehensive advising for both prospective students thinking of attending SF State as well as current students who need advice on navigating through the steps needed for a successful academic career to graduation.

National Science Foundation
The SFSU Professional Science Master's program has been awared funding by the National Science Foundation as one of 21 projects funded nationally.
- During 2010 - 2013, more than 20 SFSU PSM students have recieved prestigious NSF scolarships for interdisciplinary graduate training in Biotechnology and Stem Cell Science.
- 91% of students admitted to the Communicative Disorders program over the last 6 years also enrolled in that program.
Psychology has an average admit to enroll rate of 86%, who went on to enroll and attend the program.
Creative Writing, Philosophy and Cinema programs recieve high domestic, non-resident applicants each year.
SFSU's Master's in Social Work is one of our highest applied for programs averaging nearly 500 applications a year and has maintained a rate of 77% applied students who go on to enroll.
SFSU in recognition of its original charter/roots, continues to provide highly demanded teaching programs in both Secondary Education-Single Subject and Elementary Education-Multiple Subject.
With averages of nearly 400 applicants a year to both programs, they maintain an impressive 91% and 92% of these admitted students who then enroll in the program.

Social Work, Physical Therapy and Communicative Disorders have an average of 300 - 500 applicants with high enrollment to admit rates.
