Son Hai Nguyen - Master of Business Administration

Son earned an undergraduate degree in Economics from National Economic University in Vietnam and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area from Vietnam in 2017 and gained extensive experience working in the banking industry as a financial analyst and corporate credit manager.

During her MBA studies, Son engaged in various activities. In 2023, she joined her college’s Student Ambassador Program, quickly assuming a leadership role. She organized events for graduate students, promoting community and networking. She also mentored undergraduate ambassadors with their own events. Additionally, she volunteered as an IRS-certified tax preparer for low-to-moderate income individuals at SF State's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Son also served as a Research/Teaching Assistant for Professor Smita Trivedi, volunteered at the Women’s Emerging Leadership Forum, and participated in the San Francisco Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

One of Son’s instructors praised her class performance as the highest among her peers. Another instructor highlighted her consistent preparedness, positivity, and supportive attitude toward classmates. Her peers observed her dedication to long hours of study and her knack for rallying team members to tackle tough projects. In group assignments, she routinely went above and beyond, willingly taking on extra or difficult tasks, offering feedback, and ensuring top-notch work from herself and her peers
